Scarred By Truth is a collective of musicians based in the North East of England with a passion for writing music regarding the state of the world today.
Greed and corruption; control through poverty; homelessness and heartache; mental health and social media; everything that leads and misleads. There are no sub genres to define or ring fence them… there is just music with a message.

Formed in 2019 by Deej Lake and Mike Todd, both wanted to create music and talk about the things that they see and hear every day; the things that mark our psyche and mar our souls; the things that prevent us being who we want to be and achieving what we want; the lies and misinformation in our media, and to expose those who tell them…
In April 2020 the band released their debut single ‘The Plight’ – a charity single raising funds for Shelter.
This was followed by their 5 track EP entitled ‘Blind My Eyes’ which met with acclaim from the media and listeners alike, and were praised for its originality.
Scarred By Truth are releasing their new single ‘Sociomedia’ in April 2021 to coincide with the release of the charity album ‘Moshin’ The Roof On! – Volume 2’
“Sociomedia is a song about our obsession with social media and the issues this entails such as the race for popularity; envy and emptiness instilled by the abject ‘fear of missing out’.
At its core, the song explores the darkness, manipulation and control of cultural media and the thirst for violence in real-time; war and terror and formerly taboo matter freely available 24/7 at our fingertips.”
